Sandberg introduces two new mice that look markedly different from regular mice. They are vertical rather than horizontal.
The developers simply put a hand on the table and looked at how it will naturally position itself. Then the mouse was adapted accordingly.
With a regular mouse, the hand has to be horizontal with the knuckles in a straight line. That is completely unnatural for the hand causing a twist of the wrist and the forearm to adapt to the mouse. Using the device for many hours increases the risk of painful RSI.
Martin Hollerup, Managing Director of Sandberg A/S, explains:
"In 2023 it has been 60 years since Douglas Engelbart invented the computer mouse. It is about time that we give the consumers a choice of a mouse that is adapted to the body rather than the body having to adapt to the mouse." There are two vertical mice to choose from from the Danish manufacturer, wired or wireless. The wireless mouse comes with a magnetic removable wrist support.
